I understand his thinking in my head. I am in my thirties. I have a job, a house, a dog, obligations that I can fulfill on my own. I don’t need his support. He is in his late sixties. His new wife is just a few years older than me, and the boys are six and four. They are the ones he should secure. I know that in my head. But my heart cries because then I am none of his concern. I never was.
