The Lioness
1 min readNov 15, 2017
She owns her space, this lioness. This and every other space she adorns with her presence. By the way she carries herself, I know she has seen hardship. It made her fiercer, more resilient, sharper. She is beyond beautiful. At effortless ease in her body. Her scars. Her scars bear witness. I want to show her mine. That I am worthy. That I, too, have fire in my veins. But before she can see me that way, I have to see me that way. Once more, I am too late. When courage finds me, she is already gone.
