The Affair

A question has an affair with an answer. They meet in the bar at The Bowery Hotel where they both stay when in New York. They are not for each other which brings them close. And on Tuesday night they dance on the edge of their comfort zones. They get drunk on tease and Manhattans, then kiss in the elevator to Vivaldi’s Spring. Filled with impossible promise they smile at the ceiling as the day steals their minds. On their parting morning they read the cards in cabs.
“Will you be mine?”
“Forever and ever!”
I just never know what will come out. Pair this one with Vivaldi’s Spring and kiss with fervor. This is the 17th entry into 31 Days of Ninja Writing Challenges by Shaunta Grimes.
