Syphilis

Tales For Posterity

There once was a president who died of syphilis. As he was an outrageous buffoon no one — and least of all the president himself — noticed any symptoms until it was too late. Curious facts about his demise raised a lot of speculation at the time. His wife was not infected and lived to be 125 years old due to the substantial part of her body that had been replaced with more durable materials. His daughter, however, had to undergo a rigorous antibiotic regimen for the same disease, which of course could have been incidental.

I am sorry, but it has already been that kind of week. Pair this one with Shake the Disease by Depeche Mode and feel free to cringe. This is an entry into 31 Days of Ninja Writing Challenges by Shaunta Grimes.
