The car drags itself to the top with the energy of an asthmatic octogenarian and the sullenness of Kafka as a teenager. It is not far now. Maybe thirty feet before the tracks drop out of sight. My stomach curls up in anticipation. And dread. Here we go again. As usual I lose a lot in the almost free fall; my breakfast, mind, voice, and credibility, my keys, as well as the 20 bucks I had saved for all sorts of fried food items later. It is always the same. Once the hormone ride is on it is on.
