“Would you mind keeping an eye on them?” Asked the woman from the table next to mine.
She pointed to a toddler boy in a high chair and an older girl, both stuffing their faces with ice cream.
“Sure!” I said.
As she left I grabbed my purse and moved to her empty seat at the table to keep my promise.
Siobhan is now a paralegal at Alston & Bird and volunteers at the Humane Society. James is getting his Master’s in chemical engineering from MIT next summer and still loves ice cream. They are wonderful kids.
