Suddenly all eyes were on her. She was at Café de Paris for dinner with a friend who by the look on his face was rethinking that relationship status. Like a caboose decoupling from the rest of the train, her mind had wandered away from the general conversation and ended up in this rather uncomfortable but treatable place. Then someone said something directed at her and the statement just took off without notice.

“And how would you like your steak cooked?” The waiter asked again.
