July 20, 2018 — Today the International Olympic Committee announced that lying will be a discipline for the summer Olympic Games in Tokyo, Japan in 2020. The committee has agreed upon three categories; speed-lying, where the participants will be caught off-guard and have ten seconds to think on their feet; parliamentary lying, where the same lies are told over and over until the judges believe them, and freestyle, where the Olympians have to impress the judges with their creativity and gas-lighting techniques. Despite the short notice, the US has already assembled a high-profile team.
