Fear Biter — /fɪr baɪtər/
[noun]
A creature that reacts with biting — literally or figuratively — when feeling fearful or scared. Fear biters are otherwise sociable and amenable, but when they find themselves in over their heads, under pressure or hurting, they lash out at anyone attempting to come near. Fear biters will turn down offers of help, isolate themselves, and suffer in silence. Know that their bites pain them more than you, and are their way of telling you so. Always approach a fear biter with caution and compassion. Acknowledgement and letting suppressed emotions surface is considered the most effective treatment.
