“There’s something you should know, honey,” my dad says, keeping his eyes on the road.

We still have a three-hour drive ahead of us, and it was my idea to let him have the wheel because as he has gotten older, he has turned into the worst backseat driver. Now I’m not so sure about my suggestion because nothing good has ever come from that statement. And sure enough, it doesn’t this time either.
