A Middleaged Prairie Dog Called Walter Was into Snapchat Lenses
Pair with Photograph by Ed Sheeran
A middleaged prairie dog called Walter was into Snapchat lenses. Every day he would use a different lens on a selfie, add it to his story and await the eyeballs rolling in. At first, it would be something he did while waiting at Starbucks for his afternoon cold brew with foam, but then he couldn’t wait for that and began using his lunch break from 11:30 AM to 12:15 PM to primp and preen his image both off- and on-screen. But that wasn’t enough either, and he quit his job as a receptionist at a chiropractor’s office to have time to style himself. It was as if he only existed when he knew his friends had seen him. One fateful day when there was an outage, he missed it so much he ceased to exist in a physical form. Now poor Walter lives in the elusive ether of snaps past.
