A flamingo with a rainbow-colored bowtie was in a Pride parade for the first time. She was nervous because in all the other parades she had ever been in, seven to be exact, she had always been called out. People would yell: “Look, there’s a flamingo” or “Hey, who invited the flamingo?” or “I didn’t know that flamingos could be in parades.” The flamingo didn’t like that. But then a friend, an albino tiger whom the flamingo had gone to Stanford with, suggested the Pride parade. “They are just so attractive,” said the tiger. “It’s because their hearts are not blocked by prejudice and presumption, so the electromagnetic pull is just that much bigger. And the music is FABULOUS!” The tiger was right; the flamingo got to strut what she was made of, and the only thing that was yelled at her was “Nice bowtie!”
