A Capuchin Monkey Was Eager to Get a Role on a Big TV Show
Pair with Baby, I’m a Star by Prince
A capuchin monkey was eager to get a role on a big TV show. She kept going to auditions but never got a callback. Her agent, a middle-aged owl with a serious twinkie addiction, always had an explanation ready; “They were looking for someone in their thirties,” “They asked for a German accent,” and “They wanted someone who looked more like a cockroach.”
One day the capuchin monkey got so frustrated she went to see the agent at his office in a refurbished body shop in Culver City. As she was waiting in a beanbag chair that smelled of paint, sweat, and Old Spice, she heard the owl himself on the phone:
“Capuchin monkey? No, I don’t think so. Mmmm-hhmmmm. Got it. Huh? My niece? But she’s a Shetland pony? Alright, if you say so. I’ll send her over.”
The capuchin monkey hung her head and thought, if a pony can do the job of a monkey it won’t be long before a slug with a nylon combover can become president and then where will the world be?
